Akilah Allen serves as Senior Program Manager at Flourish Fund, where she leads philanthropic strategy across a grant portfolio focused on supporting children and families. She has worked across philanthropy, research, and program implementation in the U.S., sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia, with a consistent focus on expanding opportunity for the most vulnerable. Her experience as both a funder at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and USAID and a grantee at Digital Promise and the Brookings Institution offers her a unique perspective on how investments create lasting impact for communities. Akilah began her career as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York and holds a BA from Spelman College and a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Tristan, and two sons.
